Definition:  Clergy Killer – a person in a congregation or church hierarchy who emotionally abuses (persistent harassment) a pastor often resulting in the pastor’s (1) being forced out of the church, (2) leaving the ministry, (3) suffering severe emotional distress and, in some instances, (4) committing suicide.

 

Clergy Assistance, Ltd. is a 501 (c) (3) organization  committed to ►training clergy on how to identify and appropriately respond to abusive parishioners and church hierarchy ►protecting and supporting  bullied pastors and their families ►providing educational opportunities for learning about the “clergy killer” phenomenon.

Clergy Assistance offers a broad range of services to clergy and their families - 

 

  • Training opportunities
  • Consultations
  • Spiritual counseling
  • Referrals for psychological counseling
  • Referrals for legal and financial advice
  • Small stipends for bullied clergy in transition

 

WORKSHOPS

 

Clergy Assistance offers workshops  on how to identify “clergy killers” and insulate the church from their “evil” impact on the spiritual life of the congregation to clergy, church Hierarchy, seminary professors, seminarians and lay people.

 

Clergy Assistance also offers workshops on how to identify and treat clergy who have been bullied by clergy killers to pastoral counselors.
